Julia McQuillan, Director
Since being at UNL, Julia McQuillan has been on the BOSR advisory committee and collaborated as a consultant on the study of the death penalty in Nebraska. For the 2004-2005 academic years, she was co-director of the
Bureau and, in August 2005, she became the Bureau director
Julia earned her B.A.(1989), M.A.(1991), and Ph.D.(1998) from the University of Connecticut. She came to UNL as an Assistant Professor of Sociology in 1998. She became interested in applied research in 1992 and had several research related positions in graduate school. In 2005, she was promoted to associate professor in the Sociology department. Julia enjoys researching gender and disease related problems and is part of the research team that obtained the 5-year NICHD Family Choices (infertility) project that the BOSR is currently conducting.
Stacia Jorgensen, Survey Operations Manager
Stacia Jorgensen started with the Bureau of Sociological Research in July of 1999 as a Project Specialist. In January 2004 she was appointed to the position of Survey Operations Manager. As Survey Operations Manager, Stacia oversees all aspects of the Bureau’s interviewing. This includes managing the Project Specialist, interviewer supervisors and all telephone interviewers. She also has supervisory responsibilities for the computer operations in the Bureau including oversight on all programming of computer-assisted telephone interviewing surveys and data entry projects.
